Memorial Day weekend

So, we had a nice long weekend. Since Jeff didn't have to work on Friday it was like having 4 days off. Saturday we went to Collin's birthday party and also took pictures of the kids outside on the deck. Pictures at the end.

Paige is really starting to talk a lot. I think I remember Cam learning a lot of words and then puting them together, but Paige is learning phrases. She'll say 'Where are you, Mom?', 'I love you too', 'whatcha doing?', 'I don't know' and probably more, but I can't remember them all. every day she'll say something that surprises me. Yesterday she learned how to climb up and down the ladder to Cammy's fort. I guess now it's Cam and Paige's fort! Makes me really nervous, but she does a good job and I'm not sure how I'd keep her off of it anyway. It's just so HIGH.

Cammy is doing well too. He can write MOM and DAD now. He started drawing turtles yesterday and they are SO adorable. He also drew a picture of his grandma and his dad that I'm going to have to keep. I love his little drawings. I should scan them in so I can post them. He also says funny things. Yesterday we were in the car and he said 'Plural means more than one'. He was explaining this to Paige who really didn't care. She was interested in the toy dinosaur that she was calling a shark.

Jeff got an 800 number for his business with a British accent voice recording when you call. It's a crack up. His prices are now in line with Mike Colon and Me Ra Koh's.

Here are the pictures from this weekend.

Manicure, pedicure, and Jeffy is home

Jeff came home today. Woo Hoo!! That meant I got to leave all by myself to have my nails done. It was so relaxing. The kids have to sleep in their own beds instead of with me though. At this very moment, Paige is crying in her room. Poor baby. Someday she will sleep all night long. I just know it.

Paige now says 'I love you', 'rhinoceros' (sounds like ninoceros), and 'hippopotamus' (sounds like potpotamus). Sometimes when I ask her to say one though she just giggles and says NO!

Today I was talking to Cam about our family and how I'm so glad God gave him to me. He said he was glad God gave me to him and he's glad God gave us Paige. I thought that was so sweet. He sure gets irritated with her, but he really loves her too. Cam is such a sweet boy!

Time for bed.

Portland and this week

We went to Portland over the weekend and had a lot of fun! Jeff, kids and I went shopping downtown and then met our friends at the Childrens' museum. I really liked Portland and we are thinking about going again just for fun. We drove down Friday in the middle of the night and back home Saturday in the middle of the night. It was exhausting.

Jeff took off for CA on Sunday. Cam, Paige and I have had the house to ourselves since Sunday. It's been easier than I expected, but I am getting a pedicure on Friday afternoon after Jeff gets home. Cam has really enjoyed sleeping in my bed this week.

A couple of pictures from Portland:

It's my birthday!

Yay, I'm 29!! Last night we went out to dinner with Jeff's mom and grandma. Jeff brought his camera with the fish eye lens so we got some funny pictures. First, on the drive down, Cam was totally annoyed because Paige kept pushing his arm and hitting him so he's holding her arm down so she would cooperate. You can see his face.. he's really frustrated. Then in the next picture he has a cheesy grin again! The rest are just everyone being very goofy with the funny lense. I love the one of Jeff being a nut!

Patty made me a book with pictures in it that she has taken of the kids, mostly when I'm at work. I just love it! I think it is one of the best presents I've ever received. The first page has pictures of Cam the day he was born with his stats and the opposite page is the same for Paigie-Poo. They were so cute!! I keep looking at the book, it's so fabulous!

This morning Jeff is taking a test for another certification, the dogs are off to the vet for grooming and later we are going to a picnic and then to Portland. There will be tons of pictures soon.

Jeff's latest engagement session is up on his website. I especially like the train shots at the end of the last slide show. www.jefflaplante.com

Pram change

So, I changed my mind on the stroller for Binks. I liked that one, but then when I went to get it, I saw that it was a lot more money than the three wheeler and I really like both, so I went for the lower priced one. Here's a picture:
Grandma took pictures this week while I was at work. Here is Paige looking all sweet and innocent. She lets her grandma put clips in her hair but won't let me anywhere near it!

Here, Cammy stuck his head in the picture just as Grandma was pushing the button. He thought it was hilarious!

Attempting to get them both in the same shot looking good at the same time:

And it all ends terribly as Paige has a personality change and tries to rip of her brother's hair. Poor Cam! He never deserves it and he is such a good brother. He just yells, and never retaliates.

Right now, Cam is asleep on the couch. Paige climbed up on him and said "Hug" and then gave him a big hug and a kiss. Good thing he was asleep :)

I've been shopping for ideas for Paige's birthday and decided to get her a stroller for the doll I am making. I think all little girls like strollers for their dolls. Jeff isn't convinced, but he knows more about boy toys and I know more about girl toys so a stroller it is. I suppose he will find out by reading this. HAHA!!! I love you, Jeffy! :) Here is a picture. I chose the non-painted one and I think it will last a long time. Maybe someday Paige's little girl can play with it.
Yesterday afternoon was really hot so we went over to Jenn and Collin's to play in Collin's pool on the deck. The kids had a great time, but hadn't had a nap, so by the time we went home, they were getting really crabby. We all had a nice long nap.

Last night Jeff had an engagement session and he's out photographing another one today. He is really busy with his photography lately. He has yesterday's engagement session up on his website already and hopefully he'll get tonights on after he gets home. Check out Nichole and BJ's at www.jefflaplante.com

Genevieve ran off with the water dish again. You'd think instead of hiding it when she gets thirsty that she'd bring it to me. Duh. Now I have to go find the thing. Dogs are a crack up.

Monday

Not a lot going on today. We did go out with Jenn and Collin to get some Cold Stone Creamery ice cream and then a little shopping in Mill Creek.

I'm so tired, I'm off to bed. Cam and Paigie are asleep in their beds. They are so sweet and wonderful!

Cirque, Mini, baby, chicken-o

What a busy weekend we have had and it's only Saturday!

First, Paige has a new book - The Gunnywolf. We have to read it several times a day. In it is a picture of a couple of chickens and if you ask her what they are, she'll reply "Chicken-o!"

Yesterday, my friend Sarah had her baby boy. We went to visit her in the hospital and see her baby Samuel. He is SO cute. Jeff took some pictures, of course, and I imagine he'll add a slideshow to his site.

After visiting Sarah, we drove to Fife to look at cars. The wait for a new Mini Cooper S is 12 months! Crazy! We aren't so good with waiting, so we bought a 2002 :) It's so cute! I don't have a full shot, but it came with new tires, a roof rack, a box, and an ipod connector thingy bob so we can play songs off the ipod. Here are some pictures Jeff took at the dealership. They look just like our car, but I don't think they are really of our car.

Then, we drove all the way back home to drop Paige off to play with her grandma while the rest of us drove to Redmond to meet my parents to see Cirque du Soleil's Varekai. It was a great show! Cam wasn't as impressed as I thought he would be. One of the first things he said was "This is really weird!" He talked and talked through the first half and then fell asleep during the second half. The rest of us thought it was fabulous.

Today, Mom and I went to the fabric store and to half priced books before my parents went home. Dad and Jeff pruned the plants and trees in our yard (woo hoo!!!) After Mom and Dad left, I went to Dinner's Ready, the bread store, the wine store and the yarn store. It was a fabulous time!

The kids played outside a lot today because it was so nice, but now Cam has the stinkiest feet EVER! Peeee Ewwwww!

Cam prefers Cheddar to Swiss, and the other day, we had a discussion about why Swiss has holes and Cheddar doesn't. This morning, Cam came up and told me he made his cheese into Swiss with a straw. Here's a picture.. He is a crack up!

Back home

We made it back home, yay! Just about time for bed. Paige went to bed in her own bed again. I am so excited! She even woke up when Jeff put her down and she fussed, but Jeff told her to go to sleep so she stopped off to her bed, threw herself down on it and went to sleep. Maybe she'll actually sleep through the night before she's two!

I don't like to post without including pictures, but I don't have any new ones, so here are some oldies. Here's Cam when he was about the age Paige is now. We went kayaking near the UW and he had a great time. It's hard to remember him being so small.

I don't remember how old he was here, but he sure is cute! He looks so sweet.

Here's the Paigie-poo! I love the cropping.

time for bed. I'm hoping my friend has her baby tonight. Come on, Sarah!! :)

Apple Blossom

This weekend we went to Wenatchee for Apple Blossom. Here is Cam in the morning checking out one of the floats at Triangle Park.

Dad and Jeff rode recumbent bikes in the parade and Cam got to ride behind his dad in a trailer thing that hooked up to the bike. He had a great time, but ended up falling asleep halfway through the parade even though Jeff was tipping his bike up on it's side and doing wheelies.

Mom, Paige and I watched the parade from the curb and then walked around the park to get good food and check out the vendors. After the parade, we got Zoe dog, dropped off Dad and we went back down to the park. We had a funnel cake and I stopped and got a Henna Tattoo on my hand. It only lasts a few weeks, but it was fun :) Picture of that later. I want to learn how to do them myself. While I was waiting in line for my tattoo, Mom, Jeff and the kids went over to check out the band that was playing. The guys in the band really liked the kids that were dancing at the base of the stage and would jump down and dance with them. Cam and Paige had a great time. The band was Bryan Kostors and the musicians.

After that, we came home to Grandma's and relaxed in the hot tub. We'll head home this morning.

Paige is in bed!

Paige is actually asleep in her very own bed in her very own purple room. I'm so glad. Last night was rough, she really didn't want to sleep there. I have higher hopes for tonight since she fell asleep much quicker.

Today was a beautiful day and I got to sit on the deck and work this afternoon. It was fabulous.

Deception Pass

We went to Deception Pass this weekend to play on the beach and take pictures. Took us forever to find the little beach we were looking for. I saw a snake on the path, but everyone else missed it. Here are some pictures:
Paige really enjoyed the beach. She especially enjoyed this rock and kept saying "rock".
This is a picture of Cam sitting on Zoe Dog that Jeff took with his new fish eye lens. I love how it makes Zoe's nose look extra big. It's a fun lens.

Cam holding sea shells. Jeff is such a great photographer.

We had to change Jeff's ad, so here is the new copy. I think it will look very nice. Of course, I like all of his photos.

This weekend I also finished painting Paige's walls and ceiling. I have to do some clean up work though and paint in the corners. Paige seems to like it. We also took down her crib so she'll be sleeping in a regular bed now. Big girl!
